This Living and Dining Room open beam ceiling provided an ideal application for a low voltage cable/wire lighting, mounted over the seating arrangement, and a low voltage low profile rail system mounted on the beam over the dining table; not only do these systems illuminate down but accent the walls for added dimension and visual interest.

Point Loma - KitchenPoint Loma - Kitchen

This is a Kitchen in Point Loma that I designed the lighting for as well as all the cabinetry. Prior to the remodel, the space was divided in two by a wall that created a tiny breakfast nook that was isolated from the kitchen. By removing the wall it opened the space up to accomodate a good size table in the center that acts as a place to eat, have tea or roll out pastries. The perimeter cabinetry added valuable storage and countertops that the old kitchen lacked. The homeowner selected all the materials that reflect her husband's South American heritage. The new appliances aided in her rekindled love of cooking, and her husband can now keep her company at the table while reading his newspaper.

We kept the backsplash clean of receptacles by placing an "outlet strip" just below the wall cabinets (next to the under cabinet halogen lighting that you can barely see) so that the beautiful tile design is not interupted with electrical plugs; a simple yet very effective detail.

It is really hard to see because it was such a sunny day I took these photos (welcome to San Diego!), but the little hanging pendants the homeowner chose that hang in the windows are a beautiful decorative accent; we used additional recessed lighting to provide effective task lighting.

Pacific Beach - KitchenPacific Beach - Kitchen

This is a Kitchen that I designed the lighting as well as all the cabinetry for. Walls were removed to open the space, creating a more functional and inviting kitchen. When I took this photo the contractor was still installing the black moulding that goes on the cabinetry at the ceiling (he has it installed above the Fridge) and below, which hides the under cabinet lighting.

Crown Point - KitchenCrown Point - Kitchen

This kitchen in Crown Point (Pacific Beach) was another project that I designed the lighting and cabinetry for; it is small but very user friendly. :-)

La Jolla - Dining RoomLa Jolla - Dining Room

Although the Hanging Decorative fixture was not installed when this photo was taken, the linear cove lighting and recessed square trimmed fixtures show the visual interest these light sources provide the space. Incidentally, the interior walls on this project were of a high gloss venetian plaster that reflects lighting very effectively, that is why you can see the flash of the camera (oops).

Although the artwork was not placed above the fireplace yet when this photo was taken, the linear cove lighting, linear shelving lighting and recessed square trimmed fixtures demonstrate the visual appeal these sources of lighting provide the space.
